What products does Independence offer?
Independence Energy has two product offerings, both of which offer cash back and exceed state requirements for clean, renewable energy. Our tagline is "Choose your Green". Our Products are:
- Green Plus - our 20% Green energy product with 5% cash back
- True Green - our 100% Green energy product with 5% cash back
Are there risks to switching to Independence Energy?
Independence Energy offers the following features to make switching to and from Independence Energy as seamless as possible:
- All delivered by your same reliable utility
- Uninterrupted Service Guarantee - commitment that we will pay your first month's electric bill if you experience an electricity service interruption due to the switch
- No enrollment fee
- No cancellation fee
How does Green Energy work?
Energy can be created through limited natural resources such as coal and oil (Brown Energy), or through renewable sources such as wind and water (Green Energy).
When Independence Energy sources energy to supply you, we buy Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) representing megawatt-hours (MWh) of renewable electricity produced. For our completely green product, we buy more RECs. Buying RECs increases the demand for, and therefore the market for, renewable energy.
